With the amount of 4wding that we do, I doubt there's a single person out there that uses a winch as much as us, and that's why I can tell that the Runva 11XP is a winch that's been designed by four wheel drivers. Firstly, they've got the right brake system on it. When you're under load like this on a tough, steep track, if you slip a roll back or anything, it's only the brake on the winch that's stopping you from rolling back.
The 11 XP uses an automatic ratchet load brake system, which sits in the gearbox. The ratchet system means there's no way to let go, plus it doesn't rely on friction to brake, meaning no excess heat, which can snap winch ropes and cause mechanical failure inside your winch.
They've got a wireless controller that doesn't need a dongle in the control box. I've seen heaps of these dongles get lost on the tracks, rendering your wireless controller useless. The Runva has an internal receiver in the control box that connects straight away to the wireless controller.
The free spool is smooth and easy to pull the winch rope out. Many other winches are very hard to unspool, making recoveries harder. A fast free spool will speed up the recovery time a heap.
Runva have even thought about everything when it comes to mounting your winch. The 11 XP comes with several different mounting options for your control box, which is so important given how many different bull bars are on the market now. You can mount the box traditionally somewhere else in the bar or completely out of the way.
Finally, the winters winches IP67 rated so it's dust and waterproof, as is the control box.
Plus, they come with a limited lifetime mechanical warranty and a five year electrical warranty. That's Runva backing the quality of their winch massively. You can tell at Runva don't just have 30 years experience building winches have been out testing them on tracks like this, so they've made a winch that's perfect for us for drives and heaps of really neat features that we need and something tells me.
My winch is going to save my bacon a number of times for years to come.
